In the lighting sector, ARRI's SkyPanel series is one of the most popular and award-winning lighting products. And in 2023, ARRI decided to expand the SkyPanel series with a new edition. That is when they reached out to mdn.

Being mostly located in the background of (film) sets, the SkyPanel series released in 2015 happened to be a clearly preferred choice when it comes to lighting within productions.
During the initial planning stage of the product, the name and product design were defined by ARRI. And we began creating a visual identity with a color branding phase. The former SkyPanels appear in white, various other lighting products in shades ranging from light gray to black. The color blue seemed odd but pleasantly unexpected to differentiate all products and add an extra branding option.
At the same time, we collaborated on the logo concept. We visualized the blue branding in prototypes, drafts and our logo concept to support the sympathy of the blue concept and make the branding more relatable.
After website strategy, user flow definition, SEO strategy, site mapping and planning, the design and creation of the sites began.
On September 13th, after 3 months, SkyPanel X was launched.
